London Fashion WeeK 2012 - Street Style Day Five 20.9.11

My two favourite men of the day...

Both have completely different styles but in their own right they make it work. The gentleman above, apparently is a stunt man, pulls off a very basic look with such style in my opinion and if you can make a pair of skinny chinos and a white T-shirt look this good then you are a genius. I think what makes it work is the choice of colours with warm camel browns in his chino and suede shoes, dark brown collegic style bag and plain white T - the pose helps too. It may be a simple outfit but he carries himself with confidence.

The gentleman below has styled his ensemble in a really interesting way. I had heard that this was a popular look along the AW 11 catwalk with designers styling jackets over coats and I have to say I am a big fan! Love the minimal choice of palette and I think the grandad style coat is brought forward with the black bomber jacket, grey jumper, hint of a pleated white skirt - I think? - black skinny trousers and sport trainers. Its all about the mix of garments, cut, silhouette and fabrication here which he executed sensibly, I feel. If he had added colour into the equation it would have detracted away from his on point styling.

My two favourite ladies of day five...

Again two very contrasting ladies were my choice of the women's style gracing London Fashion Week on day five. The above is definitely my favourite of the two, which is unusual as it is very feminine and I tend to lean towards a more masculine style - if you haven't guessed already. The electric pleated maxi dress, most likely a chiffon fabric of some composition, is just stunning and blowed beautifully and sensuously in the breeze. The shoes kept minimal and they are slowly helping me like peep toe shoes (I think there is something very creepy about toes peeping out the end of shoes that aren't sandals - one day I might understand) but I do love the cut out section revealing the top of her feet. Her other accessories are perfect for this outfit. I think for me it isn't about a stand out colour or accessory it's about subtleties that make an outfit stunning, like her large silver ring that bends with the knuckle, blink and you'd miss it, but now you know it is there it becomes something special. She is also the first example of pairing black and navy that actually works for me - a hard colour combination to pull off but she does it.

This lady was also cool and loved by the photographers. I love her trench and how she as not fastening it properly with the buckle but tied it in a knot around her waist. The ribbon around her neck is cute adding a girly touch which contrast to the masculinity of her black shoes. Her glittery sequined leggings adds glam to her ensemble.

London Fashion WeeK 2012 - Street Style Day Three 18.9.11 Colour of the Day: MUSTARD

The sense of confidence in this mans personal style is great - how many others can pull off an over sized tailored jacket, electric pleated sarong and turn up jeans? It is the jacket I love the most in this outfit with its strong saturated mustard colour, another favourite shade of mine for this AW 11 that I noticed on the catwalk of Lanvin. Minus the jeans, change the bag and shoes and I think I could wear this outfit myself - beautiful.

London Fashion WeeK 2012 - Street Style Day Three 18.9.11

This young lady looked ever so sweet at LFW on Sunday with her knitted
dress and Chanel-esque pearl necklace.I love the neutral palette she chose with the subtle contrast of a baby pink python over sized clutch. Although the reason I had to snap this ensemble was for the tailored coat she completed her outfit with. The colour is timeless and it is such a clean structured silhouette with details kept to the essential and minimum.

This lady has great taste as I also have these tights. I think the juxtaposition of the girly lace dress and cropped tailored jacket with the provocative hold up patterned tights work really well. Although I personally would have chose more minimal accessories to accompany the outfit but her choice of bag and hat work as great ambassadors for her eclectic mix of style.

Day three and the bow ties are still out in force! This guy looks awesome with his bow tie that appears to be a silk scarf of some sort, fashioned into a bow tie. The jacket is also an extremely interesting hybrid of a tailored jacket and sporting hoody with its neckline and zipped fastening - the draped pockets and layered body lend to an interesting way of pattern cutting. I want his jacket so bad!!

This lady lady looked very timeless with her choice of classic trench coat, white shirt, black drainpipes and black boots. What caught my attention though was the tipped cowboy style collar on her shirt. When asking where it was from I found out that she and her accompanying friend were the designers. For more information click the link below:-

...and again... it was the clean cut tailored jacket that sold this outfit for me.

Another lady popular with the camera this day was the lady below with her killer Louboutin heels, leather skinny trousers with gold stud details around the pockets, lurex gold draped top with neat contrasting black collar and black cropped tailored jacket. This ensemble appeals more to my preference of style with her neatly fastened back hair and minimal choice of accessories.

Again my shoe envy for the day - these studded heel lace up boots are FIERCE!! Love them...

If only we could all look as effortlessly cool and stunning as this off duty model - with a figure like that I am assuming she was a model. Everything about this outfit is bang on point and her hair is so luscious I need to find out what shampoo and conditioner she uses! It is a shame that cheap fakes and rip offs have tarred the Louis Vuitton motif to a certain degree but I think that she pulls it off great - probably because you know fine well that with this beauty it is most likely to be genuine!

This cheeky Mr put a smile on everyones face out in the courtyard of Somerset House as he posed in various positions for the snapping cameras - he was milking it basically, but all in the name of good fun. He was definitely a great walking advertisement for Topman from which his whole outfit came from.

This dandy was rather shy bless him but not too shy to pull off this stylish number. Palette wise he is perfect for me with classic shades of black and grey allowing the focus to be on the cut, silhouette and detail of his chosen garments. Styling wise the trousers tucked in was a cute personal touch and the hat and brown suede shoes balance out the ensemble.

Another Mr shy but such a gentleman, his styling of jumper with shirt collar kept tucked under the neckline and peeking out at the hem is a favourite look of mine that worked well with his uber skinny black trousers and soft leather biker jacket.

You can never go wrong with a spot of classic military!

London Fashion WeeK 2012 (16.9.11) - Alexander Huck

This rather eccentric dandy with his dapper grey double breasted suit was chilling out at LFW 2012 on Friday. I think the length of the jacket is interesting and how low the fastening is just between his waist and hips, styled with a dull powdery blue military jacket was a brave choice that he pulls off with attitude and confidence. The fox stole certainly put a smile on my face but wouldn't be everyone's choice of accessory.

Then I spotted this stunning lady in a tight black dress with cutout panels, but what attracted my attention the most was her bird feather head piece. Later I found that the master piece was made by Alexander Huck, the gentleman above and as well as beautifully showcasing his creation she was his PR too. To get in touch with the designer the email is Alexanderhuck@hotmail.co.uk. The camera absolutely loved this pair yesterday and they were ever so popular

London Fashion WeeK 2012 - My Favourite Ladies Style 16.9.11

There were some fabulous ladies out yesterday at LFW, Somerset House and the above was one of my favourites! She looks so chic in this classic black outfit. My new favourite skirt length is 3/4 so she is on point for me. I love the A line skirt with the pleats at the top with her ribbed jumper tucked in and cinched at the waist with black belt. The cute, oversized white peter pan collar frames her face beautifully, with accessorys of maroon and gold from the bag and large glasses and hat protect her from the intense sunshine. Such a timeless and elegant ensemble.

I adore these painterly printed culotte style shorts. She has intended for the shorts to be the focus of her outfit, and rightly so! Her black top, nude wedges and brown bag compliment them adequately.

J'adore everything about this young lady's outfit from the caged peep toe stiletto boots, the effortlessly drapped jersey dress, oversized orange shades injecting a hint of colour and a neat turban. She pulls the bag off great but I personally would have had a more simple bag with less bling, but that's just my opinion as I'm not a fan of blinged up bags.

If ever I was to fall out of bed and casually throw on a T-shirt, black skinny jeans and shades I would want to look like this! She pulls off nonchalance perfectly. My favourite pieces if definitely the Cheap Monday t-shirt and the quirky sunglasses which if I remember correctly she said were from Camden Market.

London Fashion WeeK 2012 (16.9.11) - Shoe Envy!

I spotted this pleasant and rather daring young lady a few times today in the Courtyard of Somerset House and I have never seen so many people stop and hound her for her photograph. But it was the shoes that amazed the majority and were most popular with the photographers...and I have absolute SHOE ENVY!!! This pair of midnight blue platform heels are fierce with their gold chain and spiked detailing. And the best part, which could easily be the worst part to all of us who failed to pick a pair up, is what an absolute bargain they were. £64.99 from River Island. RIVER ISLAND!! She was even giggling when she said where they were from. Unbelievable. The worst part for me is that they were out last year so I am unable to purchase them. I have never really paid that much attention to River Island shoes, but from my lesson learnt today they are permanently on my radar.

London Fashion WeeK 2012 Day One - The Colour: Mint Green

Image- LFW 2012 Street Style at Somerset House outside the BFC Catwalk Show Space
I spotted this lady from a mile away mainly because I have become addicted to the colour of mint green since I saw it on the catwalk of Acne Menswear SS12 used as the key piece colour of a cable jumper. When I asked where the jumper was from she replied ashamedly, 'I shouldn't really say..' So to save her from the 'shame' lets just say it's from a cheap high street street store. Nevertheless, she is bang on trend for me with my favourite shade of the SS12 season. It's going to be a refreshing injection of colour to any wardrobe next season for both men and women.

London Fashion WeeK 2012 - Street Style 16.9.11

It may only be day one of London Fashion Week 2012
but some of the most stylish men were out in force at Somerset House
enjoying the sunshine and bustling atmosphere out in the courtyard

First snap of the day was this dapper gentleman out by the Strand entrance. If I had this blog three years ago you would have seen many pictures of men with a more grunge style but as time has moved on I love nothing better than a fantastic piece of tailoring. Despite still having a formal edge it was great to see that he hadn't paired the jacket with matching trousers which I think is a more accessible casual style if you want to strike a balance between formal and informal.
The single breasted one button jacket is a beautiful slim cut paired with super skinny grey trousers - the whole silhouette perfectly proportioned.
Accessories were classic with the slick lace up shoes, brown belt and satchel, slim red tie and shades which all complimented the outfut. His was definitely my favourite of the day.

Another fanastic outfit. I think I must be automatically drawn to guys dressed in sharp tailored jackets and slim trousers. It just looks so elegant and fresh! I adore the slightly tarnished pointed shoes, V-neck rugby style jumper, super slim black tie and swept back coiffeur.
It's definitely the boater hat that sells this outfit for me. What a great hat to complete this great grey suit.

I need this outfit in my life! The over exaggerated bow tie, cropped black jacket, long white shirt and indigo jeans... I could absolutely where this myself minus the jeans. He was such a gentleman, French I think, but ever so nice he let me take a close up of his fabulous deep berry velvet bow tie and flashed a smile.

Oversized bow ties seemed to be the neck accessory of choice today.

Completely different style from the previous gentleman but he pulls this off with buckets of confidence and a dash of fur of course...darling.

This gentleman was lovely as well, I think he said his name was Pedro. His attire was ever so simple but it was the jewellry and his hat that makes this outfit special. He explained that the necklace was actually a piece of Indian jewellry tradtionally a foot adornment that has been customised - genius. The tabs on the chest section of his white shirt are an interesting feature too.
